‘Location’ means the occupied area, the occupied campsite, and the National Forest System lands in the immediate vicinity thereof. Camping or occupying any location on all National Forest lands for more than 28 calendar days total during a calendar year is prohibited. The lake does a boat ramp for canoes, kayaks and boats with electric powered motors.
The area also has great hiking, biking, horseback riding and wildlife viewing opportunities. Don’t forget your camera as there’s also spectacular photo ops here. Pawtuckaway State Park Campground has 292 campsites and is located on the shores of beautiful Pawtuckaway Lake. At the north end of Hosmer Lake, water drains into a porous rim of lava. The best way to experience this lake is by canoe or kayak as shore access is limited due to marshy vegetation. Banning State Park Campground has 34 single-family campsites and is located in a forested area near the Kettle River with plenty to discover.

From Bend, travel 35.5 miles southwest on Cascade Lakes Hwy , then 1.3 miles east on Forest Road 4625. South Campground will come up on the right side first and then Mallard Marsh.

Looking for camping and fishing supplies, or just marshmallows to roast over the fire? They have a main store in downtown Homer, and another smaller location right on the Homer Spit. Camping & Cabins
Visitors enjoy traveling the Cascade Lakes Scenic Byway which climbs 66-miles through the Cascade Range, weaving past snow-capped peaks and alpine lakes. Once your reservation start date has begun, neither the Recreation.gov Contact Center nor the campground manager will be able to modify your reservation. Hosmer Lake Campground is next to beautiful Hosmer Lake with views of Mt. Bachelor. There is no potable/drinking water so bring your own.
Pawtuckaway State Park
The river meanders through 58 square miles offering habitat for a variety of wildlife. Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park includes 4,650 acres of beautiful forest and open land. The 40-acre old-growth redwood grove is a 5 minute drive or a short hike from the campground.
Devils Fork State Park campground is along the shore of Lake Jocassee. The area allows visitors on boats to drive to remote islands and see sites of waterfalls splitting into two lakes. This facility has vault toilets and each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire pit with grill. Please note campers will need to bring their own water supply. There is also a boat ramp that provides access to Hosmer Lake. Boat launch parking is for day use only and requires a recreation fee separate from camping fees.
Nearby Hosmer Lake offers opportunities for fly fishing and boating as well as spectacular views. There are also trails and other opportunities for hiking and horseback riding. Reserved Sites will be held until check out time the day following your arrival date. Sites must be occupied by the checkout time of that following day to hold a reservation or the site will be forfeited and released to other guests. Myakka River State Park is one of the oldest and largest state parks in Florida.
